Keeping you active in the face of pain & injury!

About Curtis...

I have other professional bios elsewhere, which I am very proud of and will encourage you to read at some point  (links here & here). This bio is to discuss my passion. My passion has been movement and exercise for a long time, which naturally drew me to the profession of physical therapy. I love my job, it has me dealing with movement and problem solving everyday to help people achieve their movement and physical goals. Obviously, I use all the techniques available to help someone move better and pain free (such as manual therapy, manipulation, IMS/dry needling, soft tissue mobilization, education, and exercise), but the end goal is always to return someone to their passion of movement and activity, whether that be playing with their grandchild at the playground, running their first 10km race, playing basketball, or achieving personal bests with olympic lifting and gymnastic movements. For me it starts and ends with someone’s movement and goal achievement, the most rewarding parts of my job.

I have had the pleasure of working with recreational and professional athletes from all areas of team, individual and lifestyle sports(Crossfit, Rock climbing, Snowboarding, Swimming, Basketball, LaCrosse, Soccer to name a few), as well as what I would call “work and everyday athletes.”Additionally I have had the pleasure to work with patients in neuro-rehabilitation settings (stroke, spinal cord injuries, MS, cerebral palsy) and persistent/chronic pain conditions. These experiences have given me a unique and depth of understanding of the complexities of the nervous system, which helps me when working with those with musculo-skeletal injuries and pain. Movement, after all, is a common necessity and passion for everyone! In every case my goal is to return/keep my patients engaged in the activities and movement they love, in the face of pain, injury or unique movement challenges.

When not improving my skills and knowledge as a physiotherapist, I delight in every chance to move and be active with my wife and daughter with activities including snowboarding, skateboarding, basketball, hiking, and alpine touring. I have recently grown to love the movement challenges of rock climbing (nothing else I have tried challenges your strength, mobility, and problem solving like it) and Crossfit (an amazing way to push your limits physically in the areas of movement skill and physical capacity)! But in general, I love experimenting with new movements challenging me to better understand the human body and it’s amazing capacity, abilities, and resilience. This passion transfers directly into my work!

If you are passionate about your sport, activity, and movement and are struggling with pain, injury, or performance, let’s work together to help you move, improve, and achieve! (click here to see Curtis)
